Zeni is said to be equivalent to Japanese Yen, in 1987 500,000 Japanese Yen was worth roughly about 2,127 British pounds, which would be about £7,510.38 today

Toriyama originally said 1 Zeni was equivalent to 1 yen, but later changed it to 1 Zeni is 1.5 yen. There’s also Cifrao which is the equivalent of dollars
