If you want the true story with the real dialogue and better voice acting then watch kai. If you want made up cheesy lines that never happened in the story watch the original first dub. Kai has the cannon story while the og dub doesn't have the real story because the dialogue is all made up and fake
The minor dialogue differences don’t change the story at all. All this hyperbole is ridiculous.
Agreed the Hyperbole is insane, the story is still the same about martial artists fighting for the sake of their homes, friends and even the universe. Goku's backstory is the same, so is Piccolo's. She'll be fine.
Just watch the original DBZ on crunchyroll. If you watch Kai, the intro and outro shows the final fights of the arcs and new things that happen. and its jarring coming from OG DB to DBZ Kai cuz most of the voicecast is different. Original DBZ right after DB just feels right

Just watch Kai the old version just sucks the music and voice acting in Kai is far superior especially for the major villains in the series
She's already said like a month ago that she's *not* going to watch Kai. People need to get over that XD
No matter what anyone says, the original Z version is the way to go. The dialogue is at its most “adult” , whereas the Kai version was watered down for children watching Cartoon Network.

A lot of things in early dubbed Dragon Ball and DBZ gets lost in translation between Japanese to English. Sometimes the dubbed version will leave out important details because it might be trying to crack an irrelevant joke. Also, I feel the dubbed version can slightly alter the personalities of the characters. In the JP version, Bulma is still bossy, but I feel like she is more irritating in the English dub.
Suzy you got to understand whenever they say "Kami" it means God in this context. This doesn't count as spoiler. In many language of the Dragon Ball manga, they translate it to "Deity" or "God" instead of keeping the word "kami". That's why Yajirobe was worrying if Goku is going to meet God dressing like that, and Korin said "God is very gentle."
Please watch DBZ with Eng dub but with Japanese soundtrack/score. Not everyone grew up with the American soundtrack, but globally, most grew up with the original Japanese soundtrack and that's what made DBZ so iconic and nostalgic for so many people. You are already listening to the original Japanese soundtrack in Dragon Ball. Yes, please also watch all filler episodes.
Exactly. That's what I'm saying man. She's already watching and experiencing the Japanese score, and from her reactions, she's loving it as is. I don't understand the push to watch the Bruce Faulconer version
in australia we had the bruce faulconer OST i am sure most of the world had it too. the japanese ost version is very.... old sounding and tinny compared to bruce faulconer
